Boutique Hotel Kandy

The Kandy House Boutique Hotel

Amongst boutique hotels in Kandy, The Kandy House Boutique Hotel is a unique colonial manor house providing seclusion and serenity for its guests in a lush, tropical garden setting close to Kandy.

With only 9 bedrooms, the aim is to give guests an experience of staying more in a private house than a conventional hotel. In the gardens, a stunning infinity pool has been landscaped into the hillside overlooking the rice paddy fields. Delicious European fusion and Sri Lankan cuisine is on offer.

This luxury boutique hotel in Kandy is well-placed to spend time to relax as well as explore a broad selection of Sri Lanka's primary destinations in and around Kandy, the Cultural Triangle and Tea Country. Kandy boutique hotel is in an ideal peaceful location but also well placed to visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and the Botanical Peradeniya Gardens.
The house can also be booked as a whole for important celebrations with friends, or just for the peace of mind of a group having total privacy away from the public eye.

Fresh fusion best describes our fare – stirring up traditional Sri Lankan delicacies and ingredients with modern international dishes and flavours. At least twice a week, The Kandy House Boutique Hotel serves the highly acclaimed feast of ten traditional Sri Lankan curries.

"Meals, served on the verandah and prepared by a chef who shops daily for ingredients, might include exquisite ravioli stuffed with jackfruit seeds and kang-kung (water spinach), Thai grilled chicken with lime rice and okra, and a guava upside-down cake."
Madhur Jaffrey, Financial Times

"What a surprise to find such good pasta among the excellent rice and curry."
Guestbook, Tokyo

"Enjoyed our hopper-making class."

Dinner might start with Skewer of Paprika & Ginger Marinated Tuna or Carrot & Cumin Soup with Slow-Roasted Tomatoes. Main Fare from Goat Curry or Chermoula-crusted Mullet with Tomato and Avocado Salsa, all rounded off with a choice of desserts.
Lunch serves a variety of Salads, Daily Specials, Vegetarian Mezze Plate, Pasta Risotto, or Thai Curry to name a few.
Breakfast will typically offer subtle blends of fruit juices according to the season, eggs almost anyhow, pancakes, muesli, cereals and some galvanising Sri Lankan starts to the day….
All with a selection of Sri Lanka’s renowned teas, or coffee.

The first thing to note about the tea trails is that the climate is delightful -so much cooler than other parts of Sri Lanka we visited but still warm and sunny. We had a lovely, huge room with an enormous bathroom and it was easy to imagine life as a Tea Plantation Manager staying in this lovely heritage bungalow. THANK YOU Maureen W.
